From 1 July 2009 it will be illegal for landlords to receive a bond from a tenant. All new bonds taken from tenants MUST be lodged with the new Residential Deposit Authority (MyBond)? Also any bonds from existing tenants where leases are renewed or extended must be lodged. The Rental Deposit Authority will hold the bond for landlords/agents and your tenant(s) until the lease ends.
